Planting in Buchholz, Germany

Treeapp is restoring over 3 hectares of forest in Buchholz, close to Hamburg. The site currently sits within a landscape dominated by pine and spruce monocultures.

Here, our team are planting a diverse mix of native broadleaf species, alongside woody shrubs such as hazel, elder and blackthorn. This will create a multi-layered forest that supports birds, mammals and insects.

The project also improves wildlife connectivity across the region, where woodlands are often fragmented into smaller plots. By planting year after year, Treeapp is helping build long-term forest resilience and supporting natural succession.
